Five Paragraph Theme Outline
I. Introductory Paragraph (5-7 sentences)
I think/believe/feel that ……………….. is/isn’t/should/shouldn’t/……………….. because 1, 2 and 3.
a. Exciting Opening Sentence – grabs the reader’s attention, makes them want to read the paper, very broadly discusses the topic
b. Sentence introducing the whole topic
c. Explain why this topic was chosen (OPTIONAL)
d. Discuss what this topic will be talking about (OPTIONAL)
e. Give an example idea of topic
f. Give opinion as to why this topic is interesting
g. Thesis – tell the 3 subtopics, in the order that they will appear, of the main topic
II. First Body, and subtopic, Paragraph

To Give an Example: for example, for instance, in this case, in another case, on this occasion, in this situation, take the case of, to demonstrate, to illustrate, as an illustration
